Charlotte & Chris' Wedding

Their wedding day did not start the way they had imagined or planned for -
But Charlotte and Chris didn't care. They didn't care that their venue was running on generators and didn't have air conditioning; they didn't care that there were thousands of broken tree branches in the front circle to their venue; and they didn't care that the lighting in the ballroom had to be altered. All they cared about was they were getting married - in front of their wonderful family and friends, and they were supported on each side by their amazing children, Alexis, Amy, and Hayley, who smiled from side to side at each other as their parents united their two families into one.
When I got a call from Charlotte that morning saying that their venue had lost power from the big storm we had the night before and they were trying to find enough generators to run the DJ, food, and some lights, I noticed how calm she sounded. I'm sure she was not calm inside - but I have a feeling that those little details didn't matter as much as it mattered that she had found the love of her life - and she was going to marry Chris Saturday evening no matter where it was, and no matter how warm it was! Their faces lit up as they saw each other during the processional. Every time they separated from each other to greet guests, they came back together and flashed each other the biggest smiles!
Every detail really did come together; and I think everything looked even more gorgeous with the candlelight that gave such a beautiful ambiance in the rooms of Grey Rock Mansion in Pikesville, MD. The staff were such professionals dealing with many different challenges that come with running an event on generators, but they were amazing, and they kept the party going throughout the night in style with the help of some great DJs at Electra Entertainment!
Charlotte and Chris - it was such an honor to photograph your beautiful wedding. Thank you so much for choosing me! I hope you adore these highlight images, and I can't wait to share the rest of the images with you! Congratulations!!!

Baltimore's Star Spangled Sailabration

Baltimore celebrated the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 in the Inner Harbor & surrounding areas this weekend. I was lucky enough to get there to take part in the beautiful celebration & snapped some great photos of the tall ships and the Navy's Blue Angels during their amazing air show! The harbor was packed with visitors & the ships all had long lines to tour them, but we were still able to take a tour of the Mexican ship, which was just beautiful. It was a great event that brought a lot of business and tourists to Baltimore. I'm glad I was able to experience such an amazing display of patriotism. Hope you love the photos!

Gorgeous Details - Kent Island Wedding

Last weekend, I had a great opportunity to be a second photographer for a friend and colleague, Molly Humphrey. The bride, Trish, was amazing at choosing the more gorgeous decorations and flowers for her waterside reception on Kent Island, MD. I photographed the reception room as it was being set up, as well as the ceremony, and then I helped assist Molly with lighting for their formal photos.
I just wanted to showcase some of the beautiful details they had for their wedding to give others ideas for their big day! From the antique books piled on the tables with silver platters for the table numbers, to the personalized beer coozies, she left no part of the room untouched with her wedding theme. They even had sweet tea vodka & lemonade served to each guest in mason jars with fun pink & white straws as the ceremony ended! There is so much you can do to personalize your wedding day to match your personalities and bring everything together in a theme.
Congrats Trish & Chris on your wedding!

Matthew & Kathleen - Surprise Engagement

I embarked on the most exciting and nerve-wracking photo shoot of my career when I photographed my brother's surprise proposal to the amazing girl of his dreams. I'm so glad the photos are in focus and turned out, because with all of the crying and shaking I was doing, I was able to capture what most people do not have any record of - the day their lives change forever and they say "Yes" to marry the person of their dreams.
Kathleen had no idea that Matthew was proposing - she thought it was just a photo shoot we were doing so that she could surprise him with a canvas print on their anniversary. Little did she know, she was set up!
We spent the day roaming around Virginia in Yorktown & surrounding areas to capture their personalities and glowing smiles as that gorgeous ring flashed sparkle all over the place.
Kathleen & Matthew - I'm so glad I was able to be part of your special day and was able to capture the exciting time in your lives. I can't wait for the wedding!!! Congratulations!!!

Roxy Pup!

I'm sad to say she is not ours ;) But a few weeks ago, Matt & I went to take photos of our good friend's new black lab puppy, Roxy! At just around 12 weeks, she was so energetic & ran around all over the yard. Matt was good at coaxing her and getting her to stand still for a few photos.
I'm starting to realize how much I love taking photos of dogs. It's so much fun to see what they do when you make noises at them...and they always keep you on your feet!

Beautiful Day in the City

I had the best day this weekend running around with some friends and helping them with a special project for their wedding day. While we were out, I was able to take a few fun personal photos as well. Here's one of Federal Hill as a panoramic. I'm still trying to decide what size I want to get it printed for my new office!
I can't wait to share some of the photos I took after the July wedding!
